Psychological Evaluations for Immigration
The immigration process, including the transition from one culture to another and navigating the system, can be overwhelming and stressful for the individual and their family members. In addition to psychotherapy services (for the individual, couple, and/or family), Dr. Valencia-Payne conducts Immigration Psychological Evaluations to assist individuals and their families through their immigration process. A psychological evaluation can add a tremendous asset to the immigration case.
Each case is unique; the evaluation process involves a comprehensive clinical interview (may take more than one meeting) and can also include a number of assessments, tests, and review of medical/psychiatric documents and history. During the interview(s), we will discuss topics about you and your immigration process; the topics may include, but are not limited to, your personal history, including your upbringing, educational history, marital and family history, employment history, medical history, and psychiatric history. Reports include historical information with diagnoses (such as PTSD, depression, etc.), which can offer supportive evidence for an immigration petition. Dr. Valencia-Payne makes it her absolute priority to make this process as comfortable as possible and has experience conducting immigration evaluations in English and Spanish.
Immigration Psychological Evaluations are used in a few different immigration proceedings, such as:
Rates generally range between $1500-5500 and depend on whether testing is used and the types of testing that may be required in addition to a full, comprehensive interview and evaluation.
Please feel free to contact Dr. Valencia-Payne for more information or to request an appointment. I look forward to speaking to you!
